Changing Post-Tax-Benefit Incomes (1977-2014)

Government policy, from 1977 to 2014 has primarily focused on lifting the incomes of middle-income groups while avoiding raising taxes for the richest.

Comparing relative incomes between 1977 and 2014 we find the richest are much richer and the poorer are even poorer. Middle income groups are largely similar, after Government policy has increased benefits for middle income groups and reduced their taxes.
