Dominic Lodge

Dominic is currently the Volunteer Development Manager at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust in Hampshire. He supports and encourages volunteerism within the Trust with the aim of enabling all who use services to benefit from the wisdom and life experience of people living in their neighbourhoods and communities.

For a number of years Dominic was a Catholic Priest in the Diocese of Portsmouth serving in a large urban parish and as Chaplain to schools and hospitals. He left after ‘falling in love’ and joined Mencap as a Support Worker supporting three gentlemen in Wiltshire.

It was there and in subsequent roles as a Manager that he celebrated the strengths and gifts of people with learning disabilities and understood that such were under-used, under-valued and misunderstood by many in society including some who were employed as supporters.

Dominic has had a broad experience working with a number of organisations culminating with a short spell as Chief Executive of ROCC, an umbrella organisation offering training, consultancy and advice to organisations involved in health, housing and social care. After ROCC’s merger with SITRA he joined TQ21 the social care arm of Southern Health.

Dominic is on the Board of SCA, an award winning Social Enterprise, and All Inclusive CIC. He also sits on the Board of Best Buddies UK and with the Cathedral Innovation Centre (Portsmouth) founded Best Buddies Solent.

Dominic lives just outside Southampton and interests include following his beloved Leicester City Football Club, Hampshire Cricket, long distance walking and reading medieval murder mysteries. Above all, the love of his family and friends keep him happy, grounded and inspired.
