Release | 29.03.18

A new film, The Balance of Rights, explores the challenges faced by people with learning disabilities in the UK today.

The film explains the history of people with a learning difficulty and the long battle for inclusion, led by self-advocates, like CfWR Fellow Gary Bourlet. The film also explains why decades of slow progress has been undermined by the UK Government, who have chosen to ignore and undermine people's human and social rights.

Dr Simon Duffy of the Centre for Welfare Reform said:

"This is a high quality film, weaving together many different voices, and bringing together the battles of the past with an honest description of the severity of the current crisis. There is no fudge or fluff - the film is hard-hitting, clear and truthful."

Please take a moment to share and help champion the voice of people with learning disabilities.
