Hanne-Maria Leppäranta is a project coordinator at City of Tampere. She lives in Tampere with her husband and three children.
Hanne-Maria is a social worker with master’s degrees in public law and social work. Currently she works on two projects: Ohjaamo which offers support and guidance services for young people, and as pilot lead in Tampere for developing personal budgets for social service clients. Hanne-Maria has been a caregiver for a disabled family member since 2008.
Hanne-Maria’s professional background is in psychiatric social work. She is specialized in ASD spectrum clients and working with people who have need for support, but organizationally fall in gaps between existing service structures. She is interested in developing social support services which offer individual solutions and practical assistance for clients.
In her work, Hanne-Maria has noticed that it is far easier to get five appointments for light counselling than someone to help the client to clean his bathroom. As a social worker with personal experience in caregiving, she feels that the second option would often be far more helpful.
